About the Chalice Grand Prix

The Chalice Grand Prix is a 3-month competitive chess circuit where players and teams earn points to determine the winner of the Chalice Grand Prix.  Points are earned by playing in open or club tournaments or playing “Sanctioned Miniatures” referred to as “SanctiMinis” during the circuit. 

The circuit features 2 Open Tournaments, 2 Club Tournaments and a Chalice Tournament. Players must earn 16 Qualifying Points in order to participate in the ChaliceTournament which awards bonus Grand Prix Points to Qualifying Players. 

Players may compete in the Grand Prix and individuals or as a team.  Team scores will be tabulated using the scores of the 1^st top 4 players as a team.  Teams are limited to a maximum of seven players. 

Grand Prix points are tabulated at the conclusion of the Final Open Tournament where Individual and Team winners will be awarded trophies and prizes.
